West Chester Labor Day Weekend Events

See fireworks over dancing fountains at Longwood Gardens Labor Day Weekend.

Plan ahead now for your Labor Day Weekend with events in and around West Chester.  Stay in town for downtown festivals and shopping, or relax at your own resort-style pool at Jefferson at Westtown.  You can also head just minutes from your town to wine tastings and fireworks.

  • Start celebrating Labor Day Weekend earlier at Swingin’ Summer Thursdays in Downtown West Chester.  The last night of the series, September 1, will feature live, world fusion music from Philadephia-based Animus.  The free, World Night-themed street festival will also offer local food, performers and more.
  • Shop Labor Day Weekend deals and special store events at the Downtown West Chester First Fridays.  Browse art at Visual Expansion Gallery with wine, chocolate and refreshments and a meet and greet with local artist John Hannafin.  Shop expanded hours Friday evening with The 5 Senses store, and see exhibits from the Chester County Historical Society’s free hours on Friday.
  • On September 3, see the last show in the Fireworks & Fountains series at Longwood Gardens.  At 8:15 p.m., the “Summer Pops”-themed show will feature classic American music from Leroy Anderson to the dancing fountains and exploding fireworks at the Gardens.  Learn more about the fun activities at Longwood Gardens.
  • Head to Chadds Ford for Labor Day Weekend wine tastings September 3-5.  The small festival at the winery will feature live music, green space for outdoor picnics and wine tastings for $10 per adult.
